Class Visits

Online reservations for guided and self-guided visits are required at least two weeks in advance. Visits are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

We are committed to removing financial barriers; there are no fees for admission, and no fees are associated with guided or self-guided tours.

Guided K-12 Visits: Guided group tours are temporarily suspended due to budget constraints. We look forward to offering them again and will share an update as soon as they can resume.
In the meantime, explore our K–12 digital resources to connect your students to the Fowler’s collections and exhibitions.

Self-Guided K-12 Visits: Self-guided group visits are available during regular museum hours. Booking in advance is strongly recommended—it guarantees your group’s preferred gallery and gives you priority access upon arrival. Walk-in groups are welcome but will be accommodated on a space-available basis only. Groups with a booking always take precedence.

Groups that reserve in advance will complete a short form, providing basic information about their visit. Those arriving without a booking will be greeted at the door by a gallery attendant and asked to provide the same details: group name, organization or school, group size, grade level or audience type, and date of visit.
Upon arrival, booked groups will be directed to their reserved gallery. Walk-in groups will be offered their choice of available gallery for a one-hour visit. If a booked group requires that space, the walk-in group may be asked to move to a different gallery. If no alternative is available, they will be asked to wait until a gallery opens up.
To guarantee your exhibition of choice and to avoid any wait time, we recommend reserving your visit in advance.

University Engagements: Faculty from UCLA and other universities from a variety of disciplines use the Fowler Museum as an extension of their classrooms. A visit to the Fowler can offer cultural context, exemplify ideas and concepts addressed in class, introduce visual literacy skills, and provide focus for student projects. There are many ways to integrate works of art into undergraduate and graduate courses. We are here to help you build Fowler exhibitions and collections into your syllabi.

University faculty may sign up for a guided visit with the Fowler staff or student educatorsUCLA students trained to lead introductory visits to current exhibitions, close-looking exercises, and conversations inspired by exhibition themes. Faculty and staff interested in scheduling a guided tour are asked to participate in its development by furnishing additional information, such as the syllabus and learning objectives for the visit. Fowler educators are not able to accommodate all guided tour requests; you may be asked to schedule a self-guided tour if your learning objectives or class topics differ from the Fowler educators’ expertise. Faculty and staff may also schedule a visit and lead their own tour through the Fowler exhibitions.
