These two lamps came from Indonesia where they would have existed in Muslim contexts, although presumably not used for worship. The lamp with an animated lion figure is in an early East Javanese style, but X-ray fluorescence analysis shows that it is made of brass, indicating that it is probably of more recent origin than the Majapahit period (1293-1519). The lamp made in the form of a Roman lamp presumably dates to the Dutch colonial period and reflects European influence.
