This engaging program features a leading contemporary artist Entang Wiharso and examines his poignant and provocative practice. Living between Yogyakarta, Indonesia and Rhode Island, Wiharso creates world-renowned sculptures, paintings, and large-scale installations that explore cultures and experiences in his two homelands. His work brings into focus issues of national identity, migration, race, political states, and power conflicts. Enjoy a stimulating dialogue with two experts on Wiharso’s oeuvre and learn more about his personal experiences and symbolic references, as well as the materials and techniques he employs.
