A gift to the Marla C. Berns Exhibition Endowment honors the former Shirley and Ralph Shapiro Director’s outstanding 20 years of leadership to the Fowler Museum and UCLA. The heart of Marla Berns’ tenure was her spirit of innovation and risk-taking with exhibitions that made the Fowler renowned across the globe. She shined a spotlight on lesser known and important artistic achievements in the world, bringing increased visibility, appreciation, and understanding to global arts and cultures to UCLA and Southern California. The Endowment honors Marla’s legacy while enabling us to continue this important work, ensuring growth for the Fowler’s future. Endowment funds support exhibitions and publications.
