Teacher Workshop: ARTalk: Multicultural Voices in the Classroom
How can educators successfully incorporate the stories and voices of underrepresented communities into the language arts and history-social science curriculum?
This professional development course for high school teachers explores themes from the exhibition Art, Activism, Access: 40 Years of Ethnic Studies at UCLA.
Guest speakers representing the American Indian Studies Center, Asian American Studies Center, Bunche Center for African American Studies, and the Chicano Studies Research Center will discuss the murals, graphic art, films, ephemera, and photographs on view as a lens for addressing our nation’s ongoing struggle with diversity, access, and inclusion.
The class continues on 5/1. LAUSD teachers who attend both sessions will be eligible for one salary point credit.
$65 registration fee, includes refreshments.
