Need a break from studying for the finals? Take a pause to drop by the museum during late night Wednesdays, enjoy the art in the galleries, get reenergized with light refreshments and music by Fernando Pensamiento, and chat with RISE Health and Wellbeing coordinators about campus mental health resources and managing academic stress. All UCLA students are welcome.

Fernando Pensamiento is a geography student at UCLA, leads Frequency Voyager. A seasoned musician with a background in playing guitar and bass for punk, folk, and indie projects in Los Angeles and Madrid, Pensamiento found inspiration in exploring new sounds. The pandemic presented a unique opportunity for him to delve into synthesis, which opened up a whole new world of possibilities in his music. The shift allowed him to create soundscapes and textures that guitar and bass couldn’t capture independently. Frequency Voyager blends analog and modular synthesis to craft rich, nostalgic soundscapes. Inspired by cinematic and gaming worlds, Frequency Voyager brings together the organic warmth of analog synths and the creative possibilities of modular synthesis, transporting audiences through an immersive, sonic journey. Expect to hear rising melodies, pulsing beats, and evolving layers of sound as each piece unfolds live, creating a unique atmosphere that feels alive in every moment. This show promises to capture the essence of adventure and mystery, offering a one-of-a-kind experience whether you’re a fan of synthesizers, soundtracks, or new music.

RISE Center’s core mission is to uplift and support every Bruin’s well-being by providing the education, resources, and tools needed to foster health, healing, and hope for themselves and the world around them. As an extension of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), we are committed to helping students build a strong foundation of resilience that includes caring for their mental wellness through daily practice.
