Story Time: The Journey

February 8, 2019 | 11:30AM - 12:30PM

Join us for an interactive storytelling experience as we learn about migrations around the world. Children of all ages are invited to discover how one family faces difficult decisions while leaving their home in order to escape the turmoil and tragedy brought by war in The Journey by Francesca Sanna (2016). After the reading, Fowler Educators will lead an art-making activity related to the current refugee crisis.

This program is inspired by Oakland-based artist Favianna Rodriquez, who created the Migration is Beautifulproject dedicated to replacing images of fear with visions of shared humanity.

Story Time is a short format, informal storytelling program facilitated by Fowler educators. This event is free, no reservation required. All materials will be provided. Meet in the Fowler’s Lobby.
