Story Time: Jambo Means Hello
Join Fowler Educators for an interactive storytelling experience as we look, listen, and learn in our special exhibition World on the Horizon: Swahili Arts Across the Indian Ocean. Featuring the award-winning picture book Jambo Means Hello by Muriel Feelings (1992), children will be introduced to the Swahili alphabet while learning about East African culture.
Story Time is a short format, informal storytelling program facilitated by Fowler educators at 11:30 am on the first and third Friday of most months. This event is free, no reservation required. Meet in the Fowler’s Lobby.

More than 150 artworks from Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Oman, and Yemen demonstrate how the seafaring world of the Swahili coast is a vibrant site of cultural convergence, with historically deep and enduring connections to eastern and central Africa, the port towns of the western Indian Ocean, Europe, and the United States.
