Mountain Spirits co-curator Gassia Armenian offers insights into this exhibition, which explores the sacred landscapes and rich cultural traditions of the Ifugao people of northern Luzon. Gassia Armenian is a curator and researcher at the Fowler Museum at UCLA, where she conducts collections research and manages exhibitions. She has co-curated Mountain Spirits, focused on the Ifugao people of the Philippines, and has curated several other notable exhibitions, including those on Armenian textiles and diaspora, which received recognition from the Armenian Academy of Sciences in 2023, as well as pioneering presentations featuring interactive technology. She is also developing a project that links global artists with local communities for ancestral healing. Prior to the Fowler, she worked with USAID in Armenia on civics education.
