Fowler Out Loud: UCLA Guitar Ensemble
The UCLA Guitar Ensemble will perform a varied program of solos, duets, and ensemble works featuring Latin American themes. Selections include a haunting guitar quartet, “Cuban Landscape with Rain,” and several solo études by eminent Cuban composer Leo Brouwer. From Uruguay comes the romantic virtuoso music of Agustin Barrios, and from Brazil, modernist works by Heitor Villa-Lobos. Afro-Cuban music and other ensemble works will round out the program.
