Levitt LA, Fowler Museum, and the NEA present West African Rhythms
IN PERSON, OFF-SITE
Please join Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles and the Fowler Museum at MacArthur Park for a free all–ages concert featuring the drumming and dance music of Weedie Braimah & The Hands of Time and an opening set by master gyil (wooden xylophone) player SK Kakraba. This creative offering from Ghana will be sure to inspire all who come. ArtZone intergenerational activities, which will enable kids to create their own drums, will be shared by the Fowler Museum. Levitt Pavilion located in the northeast corner of MacArthur Park at 2230 W 6th St, Los Angeles, CA 90057.
This program is part of the Fowler initiative “Art of Liberation: Africa and the African Diaspora,” which is generously funded by the Nissan Foundation and The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation.
