Fowler in the City: Day of the Ancestors
OFFSITE IN LEIMERT PARK
The Fowler is teaming up with LA Commons to offer art-making and more at the Day of Ancestors Festival of Masks in Leimert Park Village. This annual event celebrates the rich traditions of the African diaspora by honoring ancestors. As part of the festivities, artist Maria Elena Cruz will lead the creation of a participatory altar beginning at 12:00 PM. Community members are invited to contribute artwork, written reflections, and floral tributes to honor and celebrate their ancestors in this living, interactive installation.
Event is free and runs from 12 to 6 pm.
