Fowler Families: Breathing Color with Mindful Making (ages 7+)
Children ages 7 and their guardians are invited to participate in a special one-hour experience of mindful art observation and hands-on art making in our permanent exhibition Intersections: World Arts, Local Lives. By integrating aspects of meditation and mindfulness, guest facilitator Karina Zysman will guide participants to observe and create art in the present moment with full awareness.
Karina Zysman is a current UCLA student double majoring in World Arts and Culture and Political Science with a minor in Applied Development Psychology. She is certified to teach yoga through Yoga Alliance, and recently implemented a 10-week mindfulness program to promote children’s mental health.
Also on Sunday, check out Fowler Families: Let’s Experiment! Wearable and Sustainable Art (Ages 5 ). Click here for more info.

Related Exhibition: Intersections: World Arts, Local Lives
Intersections: World Arts, Local Lives explores the roles that art plays in creating meaning and defining purpose for people across the globe. Art is not only a reflection of culture but can actively shape thought and experience. The objects on display have all intervened in the lives of those who made or used them—whether to educate, solve problems, assert leadership, assist in remembering, or provision loved ones in the afterlife.
