
Exhibition Talk: Enduring Splendor Curators Discuss Jewelry of India, Then and Now
During this opening night program, Usha Balakrishnan, independent scholar and exhibition co-curator, examines the rich historical traditions of silver jewelry in India and their relationship to other artistic representations; she is followed by co-curator Thomas Seligman, Director Emeritus, Cantor Arts Center, Stanford University, who discusses the work of contemporary sonis (silversmiths) in the city of Jaisalmer.
