Culture Fix: Betsy Quick on African-Print Cloth
African-Print Fashion Now tells the global stories of African-Print textiles—the early history of the print cloth trade in West and Central Africa, the expansion of production following independence movements, and the increasing popularity of Asian-made print cloth today. In this gallery talk, exhibition co-curator Betsy Quick discusses the history of African-print cloth and its naming traditions, and will then look at pattern design in selected fashions on view.
