Fowler in Focus: Bedia Selects
September 18, 2011 – January 1, 2012
The Fowler Museum has invited painter and installation artist José Bedia to curate an exhibition that draws on the Museum’s permanent collection to accompany Transcultural Pilgrim, his upcoming solo show at the Fowler. Bedia Selects offers intriguing new insights into the Fowler’s permanent collection and into some of the artistic and intellectual interests that have driven Bedia's own practice. His very personal selection includes more than thirty works, primarily from Central Africa, including an extremely rare dance platform made by the Sala Mpasu.
