Fowler Out Loud: Pretend You're at the Beach with Carson Efird Westerlund

Choreographer Carson Efird Westerlund, an MFA candidate in UCLA’s Department of World Arts and Cultures’ Dance Department, considers the intersection of dance, theater, and yoga in Pretend You’re at the Beach, a work-in-progress departure from Edward Albee’s The Sandbox. This dance performance mourns the loss of a familial patriarch, a maiden name, and the ephemeral dance itself through the marriage of time-lapsed wedding and funeral rituals.
